Getting back into the dating game after a breakup can feel like can be a lot of pressure. When you really think about it, it's like stepping out into unknown territory all while carrying massive baggage from our past relationships. The pressure is real and it stems from a few places.
First and foremost, there's a pressure from within. If you're anything like me, you might feel uncertain about whether you're ready to open up to someone new. There's a lingering fear of getting hurt again or not being able to open up to someone new. It's natural to question if you're emotionally prepared to start something all over again.
Then, we have societal pressure. Friends, family, coworkers, and anyone else with a pulse will encourage you to move on quickly, urging you go get back out there again. And while this does come from a place of love (most of the time), just know that you don't owe them &hit!
The dating world itself is filled with pressure and a rollercoaster of emotions. You might be down for it one day and the next, utterly disgusted at the possibilities of new connections. My advice is, take your time and listen to your heart. Remember that there is no rush or one-size-fits-all approach to dipping your toes into the dating pool.
