From roughly the age of 15 to 22 (fresh out of college), we are expected to accept any position, as long as someone will hire us, regardless of the duties and responsibilities. Hold your horses; what I mean to say is that every position, within 'normal bounds', is acceptable. As a result, I believe we can all agree that for nearly ten years, we have been changing jobs frequently in the hopes of finding one that won't be emotionally or physically taxing. The jobs differ according to age, preference, and availability, of course. As a result, one individual might be satisfied in retail, another in customer service, and so on. There are countless alternatives and countless stories to choose from. 

So, in honor of the difficult years we all had to overcome, check out an account of a frustrated, overworked, and underappreciated bartender! A quick run-down of the story, OP decides to beat the system as he treats himself to the majority of the produce in the vicinity, and therefore, single-handedly solves the compensation mess created by his reckless manager.     Although the restaurant was big and could seat over 100, it rarely filled up and on our busy nights it would be just the chef and I. Most days no mgmt came by, we slipped money in a safe drop, closed up and left. This should have been a warning but I figured the owners would tell us if business was bad.

I could see how this was going to end and we still had hours to go, so I asked the chef (whom had just become my roommate) how much payroll he was owed and calculated mine.

    While I was scrambling in the front of the house I instructed chef to fill the thick garbage bags with alll the seafood and steaks in the house. I had him drop scoop fulls of ice into the bags and double bag them before placing them in our car's trunk.

    Tbh, idk if he even figured it out. He bought the restaurant and had not even been inside it, much less taken food inventory. Only we knew what the restaurant had. All we left him was wings and fries I still make scallop, shrimp, and steak skewers from time to time and wash it down with some Jack.

    Instant BigSister OP. 3 days ago Yeah.25 cent wings and owner was randomly filling buckets of beer up on his own so he gave out a lot of beer that I didn't charge for. But back then, they were also 5 dollar buckets

    thank you for your time. Most of the staff were college kids, with nothing to lose, so many of them stocked up - dishes, cutlery, boxes of steaks.... all walked out the door when they closed up for the night.

All post I hear from servers I'm like f you the cook as it way worst because they make the same hourly, way worst, and don't for tips.
