If you have or have ever had a boss try to get away with this nonsense, please know that they could not be more transparent in their ridiculous attempts to get out of providing any unemployment compensation.
Now, there are a couple of major low blows that are ever-present in this story. First, the horrible boss in question decided to surprise their employee by terminating their employment during their annual review, right before the Holidays. Next, they tried to pressure the employee not just to sign a resignation letter, but also to work for the last three weeks of the year. Now, this employee, who shared their post via this thread on Reddit's r/careerguidance subreddit, had already requested PTO during this period. That PTO request was previously approved, until now. During this same meeting, the boss decided they were entitled to reverse their approval. The audacity of these bosses!
