Taking a peek into the life of a contractor as he works to build a restaurant is so interesting.
If you don't work as a contractor, you'd have no idea what goes on while people are building a restaurant. By reading this story, you get a good insight into the process: for example, it's not just one group of people who are in charge. Instead, there is a general contractor who is responsible for managing subcontractors who work under the GC's supervision. There might be one person who's in charge of just electrical wiring. Then someone else will take on the tasks of installing drywall and tiles. Another dude will follow that up with some paint, and then someone else needs to put in things like light switches and cabinets. There's clearly a lot that goes into one building's creation, and, as the OP notes, it's a fairly stressful job to manage all of these time-sensitive operations.
This is one of those industries, however, where everybody knows everybody. You can't always burn bridges, you have to learn to work with your enemies. At least this scorned contractor learned his lesson about needing to get everything in writing before starting his next job with the same general contractor.
Next up, these people had some silly holiday traditions, like one family that always calls each other by their middle names all day on Christmas Eve.
