dumb adult @___papa_ The people at the vet are always like "he didn't let us take his blood" all accusatory but like he's a 12 pound cat and you're all trained human professionals??? Figure it out 5:47 PM Dec 19, 2023 2M Views 177 2.8K 65K : 884 (→

dumb adult @__papa_ I truly have nothing but respect for vet techs lol this tweet was just inspired by how absurd it seems that a cat (pre-sedated) can win against professional humans. If anything it highlights how hard your jobs are. Thanks for dealing with dipsh s like me and our pets 5:04 AM Dec 20, 2023 101.9K Views 10 37 3.3K : 10

Kryssi + ✔ @chase_the_high 16 years in a busy animal hospital, and two year working with shelter animals. One time, the day before my wedding shower I got scratched right across the face by a cat that was sitting and purring lovingly. Nothing was even happening lol. Subscribe Cats are nuts One time I had to abandon my OWN cat at work because upon opening his kennel door he lunged screeching at my face and escaped away into the ceiling....my husband had to go in the night and lure him down lol 3:

ChiquiTina @TinaAnn242 The vet had me give my cat gabapentin and buprenorphine before his last appointment and still couldn't handle him 5:04 AM . Dec 20, 2023 1,458 Views

Mels ✿ @themelcott ... one time they sent me home with gabapentin and told me to reschedule for bloodwork because four techs couldn't hold down my 8 lb cat with a mf towel over his head he embarrasses me soooo bad when there's bloodwork involved LMAO

PinkColl on Bsky @PinkColl My cat is extremely feisty. we warned the vets in advance, they handed her back to us saying she was the most well behaved cat they've seen! My little dog is super placid with us and fights the vet every single time he goes in

Fiona Wilson @fiona_m_wilson : I have the opposite problem. The tech will demonstrate a technique for something we're supposed to continue at home, and it's like "But no, see, *you*, she respects, after we leave, she will resume being a gremlin, and that will not work anymore."

Heather @Heatherk1130 Lol. That thought did cross my mind two years ago when they couldn't draw blood from my cat who has no teeth and no claws. He was declawed prior to me adopting him as an adult. He now gets gabapentin prior to going to the vet. :

Sam @Peeters_S ... Some cats just refuse to be treated. Mine is chill at home but is 16lbs of feline fury at the vet so even the blanket purrito, arm length leather gloves and multiple vet techs can't safely check him, he has to be sedated so he doesn't keel over from stress or maim someone.

Andrew @NostraHyde Nah my boy turns into a honey badger at the vet. He usually needs at least 3 techs to prevent him from using his death daggers

Witness : @JustVisiting805 I took in a cat that was super aggressive and honestly kind of a terrifying hunter. Yet somehow my vet was able to give her shots and shove thermometers up her butt without even a hiss. All hail vets. Nothing but respect for those professionals.

Bri @bfosxer ... Honestly, I feel it's the owners job to help them figure it out. I have a high anxiety cat that doesn't like to be touched. whenever I need to take him anywhere he goes into a fabric pumpkin tent lol. Vet knows she can do anything as long as he's in his pumpkin.
