Hold Up The Line... Pay Extra Tip! I'm at a coffee shop and the line is slightly extended. Well,
  • 03
it finally gets to the guy in front of me and he is on his phone... holds up his finger to the cashier gesturing give me one second, walks over to the area where they have juices and selects a juice, while the rest of us are waiting and watching him on his phone.
  • 04
He then fumbles around, ordering a few more items and finally pays his bill. (This was maybe a 45 second inconvenience for the rest of us, not drastic, but annoying).
  • 05
Anyhow, he walks away from the register leaving the dreaded "add a tip" menu patiently waiting for a user interaction. Nobody was looking, so I went ahead and gave the servers a 25% tip.
  • 06
The server came back, pulled the receipt out of the little printing machine, gave it a quick double take, looked at me and asked for my order. Take that unaware guy!

Tenzipper 21 hr. ago This is incredibly excellent petty revenge. I bow to you, and will watch for my own chance to follow your example.

GullibleNews. 17 hr. ago Nothing I despise more is people on their phones when ordering anywhere. Have the common courtesy to give the person taking your order your full attention. Talking on the phone does nothing but send the message - you are not important enough to me.

TriGurl 19 hr. ago I used to work as a barista at a coffee shop, if a customer was on the phone when they got up time to order I would pass them by for the person behind them. Don't be rude to me AND the person you're on the phone with. I only had one customer getssy with me about it and he was a regular.
  • 15
I stood my ground and made him wait a few people before I helped him to make a point. Don't 'ss off the people who make your drinks or food!

Jacquelyn__Hyde · 15 hr. ago It's like when you've been waiting for a bus for half an hour, and it's cold and raining.
  • 17
Then the bus finally comes, and somebody in front of you gets on it, and then spends five minutes emptying their bag out looking for their money or ticket. You're waiting for a sodding bus. Have your fare/ticket ready!!!!

Murky-Initial-171. 7 hr. ago Same at the cash register at the grocery. Usually elderly people this happens with, they wait while everything is scanned and they are given their total and then start looking for their checkbook then start filling out the totally blank check. NO. Fill in

the date and the name of the business at home before leaving for the store. Sign the check while they are scanning and then all that's left is the amount to fill in. Tuck the receipt into the checkbook to balance at home!!!

SadRaisin3560 20 hr. ago Then he should of stepped out of line to conduct his business and not made anyone wait for one second longer than necessary. Say 10 people averaging 20 bucks an hour each at about a minute of doing him without any thought that there were people other than him alive. What is
  • 21
that, 3-4 bucks and that doesn't even include_hole tax. I'm sure his total was probably less than 20 bucks so OPs action would be extremely just and fair. The cherry on top would have been to punch him in the sack as well. Strong work

Life Dish_8219 18 hr. ago I used to be a cashier at Whole Foods, maybe 20 years ago. Had a typical middle aged white yuppie lady start unloading her items onto the belt, including multiple very expensive center cut beef filets. She was on her phone the entire time, never stopped to acknowledge me or the bagger, actually shoved her
  • 24
credit card in my face to swipe the reader that was IN FRONT OF HER. I may have "accidentally" scanned the same filet 3-4 times. She never came back to dispute the receipt. Dummy.
