It's kinda sorta hard to dress too casually for a job you don't have. For one thing, it's not your job, and, for another—well, it's not your job. As long as you're wearing a shirt and shoes, you can pretty much go anywhere you'd like… Although those signs usually fail to mention any requirement for pants, so that one's up to you.

But, that being said, don't expect service from a top-end retailer if you waltz in wearing a tank top and swim trunks, though this probably says more about how presumptuous people are than anything else. Because, as we've learned time and time again from stories online, people's appearance says nothing about how much they're going to spend in your store.
This shopper was out and about collecting the essentials for a BBQ with some friends on a sweltering summer's day. She stopped at the grocery store, and while browsing for some beans, she was accosted by a wild Karen who demanded to know why she was dressed inappropriately for work. It was eventually discovered that it was a case of mistaken identity, and the shopper's younger doppelganger worked in the store. This aside, Karen should have learned to mind her own business.
