Woman Goes Viral for Camping Outside the Humane Society Like Someone Waiting for Concert Tickets Just to Adopt a Certain Lucky Puppy Named Butta

When it came to adopting her future furchild, her soul dog, her furever baby, this woman was not messing around. "The lady told us to get here early, and we were thinking, 'well, we gonna get here earlier'," she says.

If you have ever adopted a dog from a shelter, rescue, humane society, etc. then you know it's not as easy as 1,2,3. They don't just give any ‘ole body a dog. You have to fill out lots of paperwork and it’s also considered in order of application. So let's say you applied for a puppy that you are totally qualified to adopt, but someone who is also qualified applied right before you, then you probably won't get that pup.

Well, this new dog mama, Shaquira Holmes, was not taking any chances. She found a sweet puppy at the Charlotte Humane Society named Butta. She immediately fell in love and knew it was “her child.” She asked what the adoption process was like to one of the employees, and she told them that people tend to get there early to adopt. “Early?” Holmes thought…

So instead of running the risk of someone getting there right when it opens and adopting her baby, she got there hours before the human society opened with folding chairs and snacks. Her and her friend were camped out waiting for those doors to unlock so they could be the first ones in to get precious Butta.

And it worked! They immediately were united with Butta and started the paperwork. The sweet little bean went home with her furever family before lunch. What a lucky pup to have been adopted into such a dedicated family.
