We have heard of some heckin' bad dates during our time writing for Cheezburger. Some of the most ridiculous and hilarious stories of of first dates going bad for all kinds of reasons, but never a reason like this one. A cat ruining a first date… that's a first to us. And it wasn't even the cat doing the shenanigans! Do you know how we, internet people, fondly call overweight cats adorable fluffly little chonky cats? Well, it seems that online lingo doesn't always translate very well to real life.

Fat cats are adorable, as long as their weight is not impacting their health. That's what this guy was trying to tell the girl he was on a date with. But what came out of his mouth was more along the lines of: 'oh, look at this chonker, here he comes, this chunky catto is the most adorable catto to existo', and… well, she walked out.

Okay, so let's clarify something. Yes, when we first saw this, we thought… maybe calling someone's cat fat on the first date is not the best idea, but you did not call her cat "fat". You called her cat what we, on the interwebs, call overweight cats… you called the cat "chonky".

The only question then becomes… if calling a cat "chonky" better than calling a cat "fat". Now, on the interwebs, we would say "most certainly". Chonky is cute. Fat is… controversial. And we would always take cute over that. But in real life, and on a first date… lesson learned, we suppose?
