r/antiwork - 17 hr. ago Jealous-Highway239 ⠀ Boss freaking out over my new open to work status on LinkedIn I've had my open to work turned off for almost a year while I've been at my job. Job put me on a PIP (performance improvement plan) because they don't like the way I do my timesheet and expect more work with no extra pay lol.
  • 02
They've been treating me sy even before the PIP, so I put open to work on my LinkedIn to mostly is them off. Well they noticed. My coworker who's a corporate brown noser told me that my boss was getting calls from HR regarding it and multiple other managers in the company viewed my LinkedIn profile HAHAHAHHA.

How sad. They just lost like 4 people at once and have a crazy high turnover rate so now they know they're about to lose me if I don't get fired first. They haven't said to my face yet. I'm just happy to have them sing bricks right now.

senadraxx 9h ago Legit said this to a boss when they denied me a raise that I asked for. They countered with less of a raise than I wanted, and later tacked on extra. Standing your ground is often a wise decision.

OpinionLongjumping... • 12h ago At my last job we dressed very casually. If one person had an interview, they would ask for a Tie Day. The entire team or 20 of us would all dress up so mgt never knew who was leaving.

Sufficient-Meet6127 15h ago Are you client-facing? Make sure you're nice to them and make them love you. It'll hurt that much more when the clients ask where are you. I was in the same boat in 2010. My billable hours were worth over 1.3 M to the company and I

brought in more business because my support team was billable too. Then they wanted to increase my hours from 60 to 80 per week when I was salary and I didn't make 10% of what I was bringing in. What did it for

me was my boss ordered me to give him a status update at the end of the night. I did and he ended up yelling at me asking me, "What do you want me to do? I'm having dinner with my family." I replied, "I'm just giving a status update like you wanted." I started looking and quit after I found a new job.

Yeshes Online - 15h ago GenX Autistic Biker Granny Well good. These companies need to understand that we're not just bodies to be directed and that if they aren't willing to take our actual needs into account (something they traditionally try their best NOT to have to do), there are consequences.

the_wave5 15h ago Did you put the banner over your profile pic, or just toggle the open to work button on? I thought Linkedin made efforts to not show your employer. Because I recently turned the open to work button on. But I did not put a banner over my profile pic. I wonder if my employer can see it?

Everyone sitting there in a suit and tie with a fake smile on their face, talking up their "experience" and "skills." It's such a corporate barf fest. And then those corporate clowns actually look at like "open to work"? that. Here's my resume people. Typed up nice

on a piece of paper. You want to be in my "network" you're going to have to hit me up on Twitter where I post nothing but sport commentary and funny memes, while counting down the days until I never have to pretend to give a to corporate bags again. Peace!

quzaire 10h ago ● Don't ever turn this off - you're always open to work, for whomever can compensate your skills adequately and create an environment for creative opportunity.

tandyman8360 • 14h ago lazy and proud I did the Open to Work thing the last year of my job. They didn't really seem to care what I did, even when I put in notice. I think they're just planning to outsource all of manufacturing anyway.

Leave renting sites open when you go to the bathroom... the lower the worm/rat the more shight they spread, so make it work for you and maybe they keep you for a price. If not you got to laugh at the booklick
