Companies nowadays look at their employees like fodder. If you work in a warehouse, you're likely just a numbered employee with a badge, a clearance level, and a faceless name. Unlike the 'family companies' of yore, corporations now are only worried about the bottom line of sales trajectories, net profit, and the pockets of their shareholders. This is why when faced with the dilemma of health and safety concerns in the workplace, employees have to look out for each other– because their boss certainly isn't.
