What is it about lugging around big weights that makes our brains feel happy and our bodies grow large with strength? I guess biology we picked up from our old caveman habits. And you know what they say, old habits die hard. But cavemen didn't have to go to special rooms with special, useless weights, put on fancy shoes, and drink pre-workout. They just ran around doing what they do (hunting, running from lions) and it got them the leanest, strongest bodies we could imagine. That, and there wasn't Domino's delivery.
Now, we must battle the demons of office work, the convenience of junk food, and myriad distractions that our ancestors never had to manage. So in a way, it's harder for us. And we can get bigger muscles now with specialized training. So it makes gains all the more impressive. If the average bodybuilder went back to pre-agricultural revolution times, they'd probably think he was some sort of god. But you could show them these memes, and then maybe they'd start to get it.
