Seemingly Normal Chicken Lays A Giant Egg, Leaving Twitter Cracking Up With Jumbo Egg-citement

There are many underappreciated animals in the world in our humble animal-loving opinions, but none quite as much as the chicken. When we say "chicken", most people don't think "cute", even though chickens are adorable. We have seen chickens fall in love! We have seen mother hens adopt kittens and raise them! They're adorable. People don't usually think "funny" either, even though - again - they are. Did you know there are roosters who always let their lady friends eat first? And roosters who like blondes and try to seduce golden retrievers? Because there are. And it's hilarious.

So, anytime we see people giving some love to chickens, we are happy. Even when it happens for the strangest of reasons. Like today. A seemingly normal chicken laid a giant, huge, absolutely enormous egg, and it was one of the funniest things that we have seen on the internet in weeks.

When we were first scrolling through twitter, we came across this tweet and read it without seeing the egg. It took us maybe five seconds to scroll down and see the picture, but in those five seconds… whatever we had been imagining did not even come close to how ridiculous this egg looks in truth.

And our first thought when we saw this was… poor chicken. We're glad she's okay, but my goodness, what experience that must have been for her. We don't think anything would have prepared us for our baby to come out three times as big as a regular baby. Quite frankly, this bird might be a hero.
