This Redditor, yagirlleens_33, has been feeling conflicted about her current family drama. She bought herself a car back in 2020 for under $6k, However, she under up rarely using it since she started working from home. However, her mom ended up using it every day to go to and from work and run errands. She didn't mind since her mom helped pay half of the insurance on it.
However, she is moving across the country soon and needs some cash. She can't take her car anyway, so she planned on selling it to save some funds. When she offered to sell it to her mom for a huge discount, her entire family flipped on her. They said that she's “horrible for both suggestions” because she would be “leaving her mother stranded without a car and family doesn’t make each other pay.”
So many things are messed up with that parent's mentality towards their kid. What makes it even worse is that her family has been making her pay $1,000 a month for rent as she lives with her parents. So they charge her for rent but they expect her to give them a free car? This is all kinds of wrong, what do you think?
