One inevitability of getting older is starting to ruminate over the state of kids these days and how they just don't do the same things that we used to do. Ever since the teenager became an accepted cultural category, people have worried about children growing up too fast—but since social media has been a thing, this has intensified in a major way.
Many of us get the heebie-jeebies over the idea of kid influencers, who can make a bomb for their parents simply by being pushed into an after-school side hustle of content creation. The latest example of this to gain viral attention is no exception, with Twitter users horrified at the sight of a young girl on TikTok wearing acrylic nails and insisting on getting Starbucks coffee.
It's fair to say that nobody really had anything good to say about this. Perhaps moms and dads should think twice before giving their children this amount of exposure on the internet.
