Why in the world was this job seeker asked such odd questions? They aren't sure either, and they took to Reddit to see if other people are also doing personality quizzes while applying for jobs.
No one ever said it was easy to apply for jobs. Even using that "easy apply" option that submits your resume with one click doesn't help---a lot of companies follow up with their own questions. Or, like this job-seeker found out, they want you to take a lengthy personality test so they can figure out if you're fit for the job.
It's not enough to submit a resume and a cover letter, apparently. One sports drink company is asking candidates to basically take one of those online quizzes that everyone was hooked on in the late 2000s and early 2010s. You know the ones: you'd take a quiz to find out what character you were from a popular TV show, or you'd get to find out what vegetable you'd be. I know it sounds absurd now, but believe me, everyone and their mother was obsessed with these cute quizzes. It was fun! It's a lot less fun to do them for as part of an IRL job assessment.
The questions are also kind of baffling, and seem like there would be tons of room for individual interpretation or user error. One question asks what the person would do if someone ate their lunch. They can feel like a dove, like someone giving or taking a gift, like a crying baby, or like a lion pouncing on a zebra. I would've selected the baby photo probably, assuming that they're asking about how you'd feel about your lunch being stolen (you'd feel sad, right? Not peaceful or giving or extremely angry). But in the comments, people debated if picking the dove or the gift would be the right option. Maybe you should feel like a peaceful dove if someone takes your lunch. But maybe that's the option for liars.
