'They want to paint me out to be the bad guy': Coffee shop "hyped up" new barista, then fires them via text

This (former) cafe worker has had a confusing week as they switch jobs. It really shouldn't have been that difficult for them, but as they described it, their new bosses suddenly decided they "don't need you anymore."

There are a few industries that are hard to break into without experience: working as a barista or a waiter are two good examples. As a barista, you need to know the correct ways to prepare different coffee beverages quickly and efficiently. It can take some time to get your latte art to look perfectly photo-ready. A lot of coffee shop bosses just won't hire a new person to run their morning rush-hour shifts. They want people with experience, like the barista in this story.

Not only did u/throwaway8182897 have experience, they were hired by a new cafe on the spot. Although it's a great feeling to be offered a job, getting hired on the spot can be a red flag. It signals that the company might be desperate to find workers, or has a heavy turnover of their employees. This person took the job and was enjoying it.
