Yelled at for Doing the Job I was Hired to Do This happened about 20ish years ago, when I first started working as a lawn irrigation tech. I had been called to fix a leak in a customer's front yard. I told her before I started that it would require considerable digging and damage to her grass.

She had left for a while to run errands. By the time she got back, I had excavated the broken pipe, leaving a 3 ft x 1 ft hole in her front lawn. I was in the process of repairing the pipe when she came over, screaming at me for tearing up her yard. Now, I'm normally very good at de-escalating situations like this, but nothing I tried worked on this broadzilla from . After several attempts to explain the necessity of digging a hole to fix an underground pipe, she told me to just leave. So, I

grabbed my tools, threw them in the back of my truck and got in. She stormed into the house and slammed the door behind her. As I started to back out, I noticed that in her haste to come chastise me for doing the job she hired me to do, she had put her purse and car keys on the hood of my truck. I gently backed

HootblackDesiato 14 hr. ago . This reminds me of a Judge Judy episode from forever ago. A woman was suing a yard guy for destroying her whole front yard. She had hired him to "dig up all the tree roots in the front yard." So he did. After confirming that those were her actual instructions, Judge Judy asked her what exactly she expected to happen, then threw out her case. Some people just don't know.

BeautifulPhantom1 14 hr. ago Wow, what dummy doesn't understand that a leaking underground pipe needs to be dug up in order to fix it? If it could have been fixed by telekinesis, she'd have done that herself. And you explained the digging before you started. Some people are amazing. Leaving her purse and keys on your truck was pure herself. Beautiful petty revenge being careful enough to keep them close to in place for 5 miles.

aquainst1 13 hr. ago Even if it's NOT the main from the house to the street that's blocked up, there STILL has to be considerable digging in the front to get to whatever pipes are blocked in the home vs. jackhammering through the foundation.

Vivid-Farm6291. 11 hr. ago I would love to know how she thought an UNDERGROUND pipe is fixed. Maybe you stand over the pipe and use your Jedi powers to fix it.

essiemessy. 14 hr. ago If you grabbed them and tossed them into her yard, she would have gone at you for touching her stuff. No win in that case. She probably had CCTV on the driveway and seen for herself the dumbarsery (apart from the tantrum) not worth pursuing further.
