There are few life experiences that are more humbling than going through a job interview. It's one of those inescapable parts of life: we all need jobs, and we all need to talk to the hiring manager to get them. From the first time you have a job interview for a fast-food chain at age 16, to your interviews at age 40 for a supervisor role, you're going to be sweating in the lead-up to your interview.
These people may have prepped for their job interviews, but they still put their foot in their mouth when it came time to speak up. Interviewers often have the same questions: What are your strengths and weaknesses? Why do you want this job? Where do you see yourself in five years? No matter how much you practice your answers, sometimes your brain just goes blank when you hear them. It's just straight-up radio static in your mind as you try to remember your job history. Only in a job interview can you forget what job you had three years ago.
You know what will make you feel better after flubbing a job interview? Reading about how other people have said way worse and way funnier things than you. After you check them all out, read about the radio worker whose boss "spent 7 years pretending we were friends."
