One of the things that we love the most as cat owners is seeing our cats react to things. It doesn't even matter what it is. It can be anything from cats reacting to other animals with shock, to cats reacting to cats reacting to closed doors with seething hatred, all the way to cats reacting to video games with other cats in them with utter fascination. Whatever gets a reaction our of our cats is something that we love and cherish.
Whether their reaction is one of surprise or contentment or mild enjoyment… we love it. And when our cats are mildly annoyed or taken aback ever so slightly by something and their ears do that thing when they point in either direction in the sharpest and cutest way… the thing that in the cat community we call "airplane ears", now that is a reaction that we truly adore.
The sheer ratio of ear to head makes this photo iconic and unforgettable. The tiny body, the itty bitty paws, the angy expression, and the absolute purrfection of those 'just about to land' airplane ears… Cats win our hears once again.
Now this is a case of airplane ears like no other. The ears here have been extended right in time, just before the crash. The shock on the kitty's face explains it all purrfectly well. But the kitty's a good pilot, and it managed to get the plane back on track and land safely.
