If you're a cat owner and you get into a new relationship, you can't help but fear what reaction your cat will have to your new partner. We're definitely worried about it. But can you blame us? In our time writing for ICanHas, we have read some horror stories. We have read about everything from girlfriends mistreating their boyfriend's cats, to boyfriends calling girlfriends 'unhygienic' for kissing her cat on its head, all the way to ex girlfriends refusing to let their ex's see their cats.
So, today's story was truly refreshing. A boyfriend and girlfriend moving in together and introducing their cats to one another, and instantly, the male cat falls in love with the female cat. Talk about validation. It's good to know that these things can actually happen. It gives us some hope for the future.
Hey, as cat owners, we all have a little voice in the back of our minds that's terrified of our cat not approving our partner, so having this happen… would be the biggest validation in the world. We'd be like- yup, this partnership was indeed meant to be.
Scratch that - this partnership is not simply meant to be, it has to happen. Has to. Because the two people breaking up would mean breaking up the two cats as well, and that is simply not allowed. By law. By cat law. You must make this work now. For the cats.
