What is the value of enforcing who gets to have a cup of coffee in the office?
The only potential answer to that question is for a toxic manager to be able to flex his muscles and enforce his sense of authority for literally no reason other than to do just that. This time, we have a manager who did not like how his employee offered interview candidates a cup of coffee, as they were not present in the office for "whole day events." So, he went ahead and enforced this absolutely bogus rule.
Now, this CEO also loved to host workshops. You know, hour-long events that gave the illusion of creativity but in reality, they were just complete wastes of time? That kind of thing. Well, at the subsequent workshop, which the Redditor had to organize, the CEO asked why coffee was not readily available for the event. That's when the employee reinforced her CEO's own rule, thereby denying him coffee for the event as it was not a "full-day thing."
