Are we the only cat owners who love spending money on their cats? Hold on, correction: are we the only cat owners who love spending money on their cats, knowing that our cats won't appreciate half the things that we buy them? We can't stop ourselves! We know that cats don't care about fancy cat trees and that cats will choose anything over expensive toys, but we keep buying our cats these expensive things anyway. And then regretting it when our cats don't touch it. 

We love spending money on our cats… during happy times and for fun things. But sometimes, spending money on your cat is not fun, it's a necessity. Cats getting sick, trying to take care of them… 'difficult' does not begin to cover it. But we do it. And we pay. Because our cats are worth every penny, and that's what this thread is all about.

    We're glad to hear that Mr. Potatoes lived after his medical struggles. The worst scenario probably is when you spend all of this money and lose your pet anyway. But we would still spend it. For the chance. Because we wouldn't forgive ourselves otherwise.

    Our cats - and all of our pets - are part of our family. Of you wouldn't give up on your parent or sibling, you wouldn't give up on your pet too, right? We would hope so. We believe we wouldn't. Pet insurance is a good idea too. The same way that humans have medical insurance.

    Zastela @zastelatv i spent over $6K on my cat flocon for all sorts of vet issues she had. i found her as a baby kitten in the streets of a snowstorm as i was working in a gas station at the time. she also had ringworms and ended up giving it to me. i had to quarantine for weeks and lost my job because of it back then. i wouldn't have it any other way, she went through all the ups and downs of my life since and has been a big support to me in times of need. i love her to death. i love her so much

    Anodyne @seanzy25255 $5K I would swing for my Rosie. An old co-worker spent $65K on her dog's cancer. I thought that was insane at the time but she had the money, loved the dog, and had no kids. Life's hard enough; if you can spare it, save them. They bring us so much joy in a hard world.
