In a family with kids, the young ones will always need to go to school, do homework, eat at least three meals a day, and they'll also need rides to their friends' houses and soccer practices. It can be a whirlwind for any parent! And for parents who are doing all of the childcare and housework while the other parent works a 9-5 job, it can be a lot to handle. Childcare is a 24/7 job, there's no such thing as a day off.
This person, u/pokey1984, had a cool story to share from the 1950s. It's about this person's grandparents, and it's an interesting look into the family dynamics of the time. Grandma stayed at home and watched their kids while Grandpa went out and worked each day. However, instead of viewing their marriage as teamwork, one day Grandpa slipped up and snapped at his wife for not having a hot dinner prepared for him. At least Grandma let him know who was really in charge in that household.
