Park in handicapped space? Then hit a light pole? You are gonna have a bad day. I use handicap parking and it's annoying when someone takes it up without a placard. Usually, I groan and curse to myself. However, when it's egregious, I usually say something. Today had an especially egregious occurrence.

I arrived home this afternoon and there was a transport for a fairly large car sales delivery service truck parked across most of the handicap spaces. We have about 8 in front of the building. This truck took up 5 of them. I was very annoyed, so I snapped a few pictures and proceeded to contact the company. I'm not going to approach this person, but the company should definitely know. Revenge: I report him to the company, since I know that he's gonna have a bad time when that happens.

Icing: After I make the report, I'm thanking the customer agent when I hear a bang. The driver has decided to move the truck (he'd been parked there at least 25 minutes) and, while backing up, smashed into a lightpole. This isn't a small tap, the entire lightpole feel onto the fence behind it, totally broken. Thankfully, I'm still on the phone with the agent. I don't think I've ever heard a customer agent sounds so entertainingly shocked. We both had the "Wait... This can't get worse."

I give the information to the agent who promised to forward it along and make lots of notes. I forward the pictures of the driver blocking the spots as well as a somewhat distance picture of the truck right in front of the now broken lightpole. Even bigger bonus: I reported this to the office right after it happened, since I had a feeling that the driver wasn't going to. As I was writing this, I just saw the police show up, probably to take an accident report... Definitely having a bad day.

dogswelcomenopeo... • 13m ago My (64M) daughter (33) is disabled and we use handicapped parking when we can. Otherwise park way out so she's not blocked. She pushes her own chair, and I won't arm wrestle with her! She doesn't use the electric carts, ... because I don't need one."

Spare_Ad1422 OP 29m ago I can empathize with this. Everyone has bad days and I'm usually one who says "I don't know what's going on." It's why I didn't confront him or even want to engage. I called the company because this is (probably) a training issue parking like this isn't just a - move, it could get the parent company in a lot of trouble. I've been on both sides of that type of issue. I don't wish this driver to get into (too much) trouble. It would probably have been a slap on the wrist if

Z4-Driver 51m ago • INFO: Out of curiosity, was there a place where he could have parked his truck legally? 3 Reply ↑ Share Spare Ad1422 OP. 43m ago Edited 37m ago Yes. Many spaces. The handicap spaces are directly in the front of the building. About 50 yards away is a much larger area with a lot of empty spaces. There is not a shortage of parking. After they backed into the pole, they moved the truck to that area (which was open at the time).

Il-leto 46m ago This is what I was wondering. If he's just delivering a vehicle he'll be out of there in a few. Hitting the pole though is bad but happens.
