This buyer prepared well before heading to the car dealership: they researched the cars and knew exactly what model they wanted. And of course, they knew the right price that they should've been getting the vehicle for. You can't expect the dealer to give you a low price, you have to fight for it.
While looking to buy a new car, this person decided to check out a major dealership in their area, since they'd had a good experience with them before. But they'd only had their car serviced there, and they hadn't met their sales department yet. It turns out that the sales department was quite judgy, and made a snap judgment about this person's income just by looking at what they were wearing.
The writer of the story shares that they were so sure they wouldn't buy a vehicle that the dealership assigned an inexperienced worker to show them the cars on the lot. That wouldn't have been so bad if they'd treated this buyer with respect, but the employees seemed to relish in ignoring this person. At least the dealership learned their lesson when u/NOVAEvilCapitalist showed up again to gloat.
