I'm going to be honest…I'm still thinking about what misogynistic Marvel fans did to Brie Larson all of these years later. She simply dared to criticize the lack of diversity in the world of film critics and how that can negatively impact film criticism. Larson called for platforming critics with a plethora of life experiences and tastes instead of the same old boring dudes, and she got crucified for it. The things she advocated for in her speech were not at odds with most Marvel fans' desires. So many fans of Marvel movies want superhero movie critics not to approach the movies with inherent hostility. If the same 50 guys from significant newspapers continue to be the only critics getting platformed, superhero movies will never get the unbiased analysis they deserve. If you love Marvel so much you think the New York Times should give all their releases at least four out of five stars, these Marvel memes might make your Friday.
