As people who have had cats since a young age, we have always wondered how they would fit into our lives as we go through changes. Moving with cats, getting a job and having to leave your cat at home while you're there, going on vacations for long periods of time, our cats are with us through everything, and they will be with us when we have kids one day. So, we wonder about that too, and we hope that our cats and our babies will be best friends.
We can't help but be somewhat worried about it – are our cats and babies going to get along? Everyone keeps asking us what we're going to do when that day comes. And we're not sure. But for now, we choose to believe that our cats will love our babies, and our babies will love our cats, just like it is in all the adorable pictures that you're about to see.

We're pretty sure that every single person who asks this question is someone who has never had pets before – any pets at any point in their lives. You do not throw out one member of your family because another one was born. You make it work. Maybe you get lucky, and your cat and your baby become bet friends. Or maybe you have to keep them separated until the baby is older. Either way, the cat stays.
And you know what – we have had plenty of proof of just how much cats love babies, of how gentle they are with them. We think that cats recognize that this new itty bitty human is fragile somehow, whether it's because the babies smell like their mother's milk or because they see how gently we treat the babies, so the cats understand that they need to be gentle too. Maybe not all cats, but we hope that our cats would.
