Don't you respect my schedule? OK. M OC This happened a few days ago at my work. I work as a monitor in a company that sells wholesale, we have rotating schedules so if we have activities outside of work we have to notify them in advance so they can adjust our schedule.

It turns out that this is not the first time that they have told me that I should give more notice, so a week before the next week's schedules were made I informed my leader about all my activities for the month.
  • 03
He clearly didn't like this so he told me to send it to him in writing so he could remember and consider it for the schedules, well if it had happened like that I wouldn't be here.

I needed to rest on a Sunday because that day I had baking classes and to come in the morning on Tuesday, when I saw the schedules I got angry, as always she did what she wanted,
  • 05
she gave me my rest on Tuesday and on Sunday she left me in the afternoon, from 2:30 to 11:00 pm, my baking class was from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, so it was literally making me choose between my class and coming to work.
  • 06
I was upset because it wasn't the first time it had happened and I always ended up trying to convince other classmates to change my schedule or break so I could do my activities. I was tired of always looking for solutions for the things she did wrong, and she also had the impudence to take her rest on Sunday.

here comes my malicious fulfillment. I decided to pretend that I never saw the schedules and miss Sunday, I hate uploading statuses to my WhatsApp but I decided that this time it was a special situation, so I started uploading statuses from my baking class, when I saw that my leader saw my status I knew that I had won, when it was 3 in the afternoon my boss (my leader's superior) asked me why I had been absent, I told her that I had not seen the schedules and that since I did what the leader ask
  • 08
I knew that I was going to ask my leader but I also know that she has a reputation as a liar so I knew that she would try to twist things in her favor, so I sent her a screenshot of the conversation in which I told her in detail about my activities.,
  • 09
she thanked me and didn't say anything to me, the next day I found out that she was advised for that and I got away with it without any repercussions, then she tried to justify herself to me by saying that my boss had not approved the schedule, but it is evident that is a lie.

I know they're not going to pay me that day I was absent, but it was worth it to get her scolded and let's see if she understands that if they don't respect my schedule I'm just going to be absent and I'm not going to try to fix their nonsense anymore.

GirlStiletto 2 hr. ago I con't imagine NOT sending all requests in writing. Never jsut tell someone a change in schedule. Sounds like you did this the right way.

Just_Aioli 1233. 4 min. ago Yeah, where I am I established a shared calendar for people to put their time off on. That way it's easy to plan in advance and everything's done via a specified process so things don't get missed and you don't have to "just remember" since all the information is exactly where you expect it to be.

fizzlefist 2 hr. ago Rule 1: always have it in writing so you can CYA later. Manager can lie all they want, but here's the email.

Responsible-End 7361. 2 hr. ago Next tome don't send a status (no proof of what you did) but just call in sick. If every time your boss ignores your requests you call in sick that day, the boss has to cover every day they ignore your requests, and as long as there is no proof you were not sick...

2 Ian_Dox 2 hr. ago You've got to be careful doing this. Most managers would say the schedule is always posted on X day and it's your responsibility to check your schedule. The next thing they could pull is, yes, you sent me your schedule request in writing. Could you please show me where I approved it in writing? If they're disorganized, you might be able to get away with it once, but after that, they'll start locking everything down, with an emphasis on you because you got one over on them.

Anderas1 2 hr. ago You did it right. You had something in writing so you were safe. Continue to do it that way as long as you have this kind of lead.

billyd1183 46 min. ago Next time you have to submit your availability, be sure to cc a couple people up the chain of command with the explanation tgat you will be unavailable on such and such day for such and such reason, and will not be able to work. Also request acknowledgement of receipt of the email so they can't claim they didn't see it.
