We did it; we got there; being tired became more of an identity. We never thought it would happen to us, and we expected vacations to heal us completely and restore our energy, but they didn't, and we came back to work with no more patience to draw on.

It's that time of the year when we set our alarms again, and we can't believe we do this for a living. Or at least we don't know how we do it. We begin to understand our tired teachers because we've morphed into one of them.

Paradoxically, kids connect us with a more youthful approach to life, and we learn valuable new pieces of knowledge, like the meaning of 67 and the differences between Bombardino Crocodillo and Ballerina Capuccina.

I remember teachers used to think that if they sat me with the most problematic kids in the classroom, they would chill out and finally listen. I'm here to tell you it didn't work, and it actually worked all the way around.

What ended up happening is that I learned to be more mischievous, and my life had a turning point. I went from nerd to popularesque nerd, so thank me later when you think the solution for problematic behavior is sitting the kid next to the class dork.
