I became super fit and lost quite some weight out of sheer pettiness. Roughly one and a half year ago I had a fall out with a friend. I spare you the details, but we gradually did not get along anymore. I was sad, but I also felt relief that the constant arguments and stress I had dealing with her ended. Up until she started badmouthing my other friends because they did not take her side, which started to make me resentful. It came with quite a surprise I only realised much later.

I always struggled with my weight to the point that I started getting sore joints and back especially while going to concerts or anything else that required me to stand around for a while. It troubled me that not even physical pain was enough of a motivator. The thing just is, the friend I had to cut ties with always had a very mean girl attitude with other woman who were slimmer than her, commented about peoples food choices behind their backs if they tried to make better choices. She always pr

And you know, it is so weird when I reaslised it, but do you know this "the best revenge is to thrive"? Pretty much this and a tickling sense of super giga pettiness finally gave me the motivation to tackle my goal. I am 40 ibs down, no sore back, knees or ankles in months. I finally found the kinds of sport I feel I can do and have fun doing so as I get older, trying my best to keep healthy for as long as possible. I feel bomb, dwelling in the petty thought that it would make her super see how

ashkebane 17h ago Motivation is motivation. It might've started out petty af, but in the doing, you've gotten healthier and (imo, more importantly) you've found physical activities that you enjoy doing. 229 Reply ↑ Share 2h ago Unfair_Negotiation67 Exactly! I would only add that it's probably healthier now to just leave that pettiness behind and move on from even thinking about former friend as being at all connected to the better life choices. OP deserves the credit themselves no matter what in

Spinnerofyarn 16h ago Good for you! They say the best revenge is a life well lived, even better if you feel/look even sexier living it away from them! 47 3 Reply ↑ Share Estellalatte 13h ago • Sometimes shedding toxic relationships enables us to shed toxic habits. Your ex fiend sounds so insecure the way you describe her behavior. Comparing herself to others constantly shows her unhappiness. 47 B Reply ↑ Share

SneakerTreater 13h ago • I've recently distanced myself from a mate that won't accept help for his alcoholism. The release of stress means I'm drinking less, eating better and exercising more. I'm by no means perfect but the change is noticeable. You keep the fire burning and be as healthy as you want. +5 + Reply ↑ Share tennezzz 11h ago I love this so much I'm currently studying my fitness certificates for similar petty reasons! ↑ 5 ↓ Reply ↑ Share

Confusing Onion 3h ago Well done you! I was friends with a girl who used to make nasty comments about plus sized folks. Not that she was one to talk as she and I were both bigger girls. I always wondered what she said about me behind my back since I was the bigger of the two of us. Since our friendship ended I have lost about 20 kilos (44 lbs). Recently saw a photo of her and I reckon she has probably gained that much. It was petty, but I did laugh. 4 Reply ↑ Share ... LadySpaghettimonster OP •
