'Cut the umbilical cord already': Fed up fiancée calls off wedding after overbearing mother-in-law makes excuses to postpone on 4 different occasions

Something that not everybody considers when getting into a relationship is that if it becomes serious, your dynamic with your in-laws can be almost as important as that with your partner. Whether wayward or overbearing, the parents of your beloved can have an outsized influence on how happy you are in your life together. 

If you're lucky, this impact will mostly be a positive one—but not everybody gets this privilege. This is something that one longsuffering woman found out the hard way after she felt the need to call off her engagement with her fiancé of several years after his mom kept finding reasons to postpone the wedding. 

She revealed to the internet that her mother-in-law was so overinvolved that she had stopped them from getting married on four separate occasions, and people were horrified at what she had gone through. It was clear that her partner was not interested in making her the main priority.
