But some families are struggling when their kids do not live in spaces to take the furniture or just don't want them because they aren't their style. Rough.

    QuoProQuid @TNOQuoProQuid 16h . when my grandmother died, i asked if i could please have the papers (letters, photos, records) that she had accumulated over 90 years of life to try and digitize or otherwise preserve. they were unceremoniously tossed into the garbage. i never saw them. it still hurts.

Being asked to carry on values elders never embodied is upsetting

Very few people have space for random boomers attached memories to. Stamp collections, 2$china plates, out of date furniture

I took her special occasion glassware and now use it as my every day glasses. She died a few months later and I still think of her every time I use them.
