  Instead of just pop-up messages on your phone, a popular medium for other virtual pets, Lola is a talking dog robot that says out loud some of the bizarre things canines can get up to, like loud barking, expelling fluids indoors and chasing butterflies

  It also includes the nasty stuff like peeing or doing a number two on the carpet. However, Lola will also tell you if it's going to run around in circles or chase an innocent butterfly.

  The company behind the future parent-training mutt has also partnered with an organization that helps homeless dogs find permanent families called Dallas Pets Alive.
