'I feel like you'd be overweight in the near future': Man gets chewed out after dumping date for eating a salad

The ick is a complicated phenomenon in the already complex world of dating. Sometimes it arrives due to legitimate and even necessary reasons, other times it feels like a dumb game that your subconscious is playing against you. Either way, it is a very delicate topic to approach with your former crush. Often, it's just best not to bring it up.

This is especially true when the problem boils down to one of your deep-seated issues, as with a breakup text that has been facing viral scrutiny recently. In it, a man tells a woman he has only been on one date with that they are not compatible because she "ate the whole salad" during their meal together. While clarifying that he still wants to hang out, he accused her of being greedy and unladylike in her portion sizing. It will surprise nobody what the reaction of social media was. Nobody wants a date they feel they can't enjoy themselves around.
