Like exotic birds, human beings must be flashy when to impress someone. Whether you're attempting to become a partner at your law firm by fluffing up your boss's ego or if you're trying to get a girl's number at a party, there's a certain aspect of human social behavior that leads me to believe that most of it is just for show. But when you're trying to act richer than you are, attempting to stage an inflated tax bracket can be quite cringe.

Isn't it always obvious when someone's trying to act richer than they really are?

Apparently there are at least 23 ways that are clearly a desperate attempt at a good first impression. For starters, if you're driving a sports car but live in a shack, you're definitely not rolling in wealth.
