[deleted] • 1mo ago Nope. You gotta learn on your own. Have fun while it lasts, though!

Sugar_Weasel_ • 1mo ago I'm gonna do the opposite. A little over two years ago I started as a hostess at a restaurant, and immediately developed a crush on one of the cooks. I thought to myself, "I should absolutely not pursue this, there is no way it could end well." We're getting married in June.

Jace022404 1mo ago Slept with him twice, found out he had a girlfriend. 2 weeks later he was arrested for violating his parole by sleeping with the girlfriend in a cemetery. By the time he got out of jail, she had OD'd and died. Now he keeps messaging my boyfriend. asking if I'll go hang out with him, since he's "oh so lonely" and I have him blocked on my phone.

wowitska... • 1mo ago ⚫ Edited 28d ago Uhhh well I just started dating a fellow server I work with so maybe I'm not the best person to ask. We've been talking for a couple months and have been officially together for a week and so far it's been really, really fun.

Anyhoo, I do have a horror story. So where I work we have to do "Follows” where you follow a training certified server for four shifts and as every shift goes on you do more and more of the work until it's pretty much your section and they follow you.

Well my VERY, VERY first follow and the first day I've ever served, I was following this one guy named Jacob. Well, apparently Jacob had been dating this girl named Abigail (both servers and bartenders) and literally like the day before I started Abigail SLEPT with another server that was also working that day. And ofc I

didn't know anybody yet and didn't know the tea so I full pieced the whole story together as I followed Jacob around the restaurant with all three of them working. It was absolutely the worst. So much awkwardness, anger, tension, bad inside jokes. It was crazy.

There is also this couple i work with that seem happy but are just so annoying. People call them duck and tails bc he literally cannot go anywhere without her. He'll call people and pay them to take her shifts, if she's working he'll come in and sweep her section so she doesn't have to, and she always has the worst attitude with everyone. They

never do abt side work or run any trays. They'll have our shift leads designate close work so they can do it together. It's so annoying. Anyhoo those are the only two i can think of

Argentum 1909 • 1mo ago Not particularly in the vein of what you're looking for, but still. I had gotten the job for my boyfriend at the time, and we worked the same shifts. We had a manager hired after us who was incompetent, petty, and an absolute • What this manager did was speak to one of the new girls,

V, and talk to her about how me and my boyfriend were together and that I was jealous of V. That I thought that V was prettier, thought that V was going after my boyfriend and that I hated V for it. I mean yea, V was really pretty, but I had spoken 2 total sentences to her and basically had no opinion other than "she seems nice."
  • 14
Poor V avoided me for a while, just didn't talk when I was nearby and would find somewhere else to be. Because I was one of the more senior coworkers, eventually she had to talk with me for certain questions and I guess she saw I wasn't a raging jealous witch and eventually told me about what that manager said. what the ??? We worked together for less than a year, both of us quit in that time because management became so unbearable. But she was an absolute sweetheart, and I'm so upset someone took advantage of my personal life to spread lies and rumors!

beingof-chaos • 1mo ago Called it off after a month, was threatened to be butchered. Dated a different coworker later on somewhere else and had a lovely 2 years, we worked other places together (seasonal ppl), lived. together, got close w his family, it was lovely. Ended on a good note and I don't regret that experience at all. So idk it really is a spectrum

HoundIt 28d ago When I was serving I got involved with one of the line cooks. I was crazy about him. We seemed to go really good together and everyone at work knew we were a thing. Then at the company Christmas party he brought his girlfriend who he'd been with most of the year. So there, in front of all my co-workers/friends at the Christmas party-, everyone (including me)found out I was his side chick. I was so crushed I transferred to another location in a different state.

BeanPatrol27 • 28d ago EVERYONE WILL KNOW AND WHEN YOU BREAK UP EVERYONE WILL KNOW! THEY WILL TAKE SIDES. YOU WILL BE THE CENTER OF JOKES AND YOUR PRIVATE PARTS MAY VERY WELL BE DESCRIBED IN GREAT DETAIL TO YOUR COWORKERS! Hope this helped.

Ok_Quantity_5134 • 1mo ago I dated the owner of a bar I worked at. No one knew because I was seen as being a nice easy going guy and she was, quite frankly, CRAZY, at work. Outside of work she was really nice and calm. Everyone we meet said, you two seem so comparable. She did not like drama of any kind, but at her bar she seemed to always be in the middle of it. Got

in a fight with one of the patrons when she started arguing with another patrons husbands. Place had fights every weekend. She was always in the middle of everything going on.
