Adopting a cat is never the easiest decision. And while it's true that most times, it's not you who adopts the cat, it's the cat that adopts you, you still have to consider the responsibilities that you will have and the challenges that having a pet will bring. But it's always worth it, right? Once you make the decision to keep the cat, to have it in your home, then it's always worth it, and even if you adopted the cat in an unexpected way, you could never say that you didn't want it.

Well, apparently, that's not always true. Now, we only ask you this before you go into reading this story: do it with an open mind. Because we didn't. We were quick to judge, and we shouldn't have. The person who adopted the cat in this thread seems to be one of the kindest, sweetest people, and we wish them and their new kitty the best of time together.

    Honestly… our first reaction to seeing this caption was not the most favorable one. Yes, not everyone gets along with cats, we get it, but once you have one, once you've lived with it, once you've taken it in and accepted it, how could you say that you didn't want it? But then we read the backstory… and we get it.

    At this point, we can only be thankful that you have put all of that pain and history aside to help this cat, and while your relationship with her might still be a little rocky, at least she's happy. And with an owner as kind and loving as this person, we are sure that, with time, you will become the bestest of friends.

    A few weeks ago I found Mimi pawing at doors begging for help. I couldn't leave her outside, and I realized she'd chosen me. I told myself I'd never adopt another cat, but there she was, she needed help, and how could I not love her. Five days later I found a lost cat poster for 16 year old Mimi, and all the heartbreak came flooding back at once.

    My sister, in all her wisdom, thought the best way to cheer me up was to show up at my door three days later with a feral kitten that wanted nothing to do with me. I spent the first day crying and trying to understand how I could get rid of her without being a horrible person that gave up on a cat that needed a home.

    But the moment she heard Figaro, and I saw her eyes light up, I realized she's here to stay.     Bean forced herself on him, and he's a big softie so he was reluctant to tell her no despite being uncomfortable. She decided they're best friends, and he gave up trying to tell her off after the first few days.
