'His first instinct is to pet it': Curious Octopus Takes An Interest In A Human, And He Gives Into The Urge To Do What We All Would Do

You know, sometimes, we, animal people, can catch ourselves saying all kinds of strange things. "I would adopt a puma because they're so cute!" We say that, sure, but we don't actually mean it. We know that these animals are dangerous. Pssh, we would never do something as silly as actually try to interact with one of them in real life. Or would we? Because most of us, unfortunately, never get the chance to try. But those of us who do… seem to do the crazy thing.

Humans like us, who love animals as much as we do, will do things like… try to pet a lynx cub if we encounter one in the wild. Or attempt to gain the trust of a seagull by feeding it for months and months. Or adopt a pet wolf - although to be fair, like others, we'd probably confuse it with a dog first. Or… if given the chance, we would let an octopus wrap itself around us and pet it. Like this person did. Yup, crazy or not, we would have done the same thing.

Admit it, you would have done the same thing. There might be sane people in the comments under this post, ones who would sense danger when something like this happened to them. But not us, no, we are animal people, and if this happened to us, you know we would have been sitting there giggling, totally prepared to be pulled into the ocean to experience this moment.
