Neighborly feuds are endlessly entertaining provided that you are watching them unfold from a distance. It's that strange dichotomy of wanting to hear all the drama without having to be an active participant in it. A friend of mine put it best when she said that drama where she has absolutely no personal stake is just the best kind of drama. That way, you have no bias and you can form whatever opinion you want to regarding the people involved. Furthermore, you know that whatever side you ultimately take will not affect you in any real way.
That's the tough part about neighborhood drama in your own backyard. Even if you're not a part of the feud, you still have to be careful about what you say and to whom so that you don't suddenly become embedded in the conflict. For instance, I have no desire to be anywhere near the parking debacle between these two neighboring homes, but hearing about the step-by-step drama without knowing anyone personally makes me chuckle at how these two families ended up treating one another.
