It never hurts to be kind. Having manners helps a lot in life, too. It's like that saying goes: you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. You'll get far in life by treating people the way you'd like to be treated… but you'll also learn pretty quickly that not everyone is raised right. Some people just cannot fathom that people besides themselves have feelings, too.
One of the best tips for knowing if someone was raised right or not is to dine with them at a restaurant, like u/SassNA**319 did with her guy friend. She claims she's one of those people who is "quite blunt." She's not like the other girls in Georgia, she claims, because she's a rough-around-the-edges midwestern transplant. This woman says she's one of those people who just tells it like it is. Whenever someone says that, it's an automatic red flag. What they're trying to say is that they're happy to spout off whatever pops into their head, whether or not it'll hurt the people around them. It's not a good look, and these people are hard to befriend, because they'll just belittle everyone around them constantly for their own amusement.
This woman asked the r/AmItheA**hole subreddit if she really was being a Karen, which her friend accused her of after a dining incident. See it for yourself down below. Then, read about these stuck-up people who only care about money.
