'He walked towards me and meowed to say hi back': Person Rescues A Cat That Was Missing For A Whole Year And Helps Her Reunite With Her Family

Cat reunion stories are something that never fails to get us emotional. We take a single look at our kitties and think about the pain that we would experience if they disappeared one day and the relief that we would feel when they returned, and we get it. Those stories always, always get to us. Whether it's a woman reunited with her kitten after 6 weeks apart or a truck driver reuniting with his cat after losing him on the road, or a fox reuniting with the cat he grew up with or a momma cat reuniting with her kittens after weeks apart.

Every time, we get emotional, but never more than today. Because while this story has the happiest ending - with a cat reuniting with its family after a whole year apart - it also has the rescuer having to say goodbye to the kitty. Bittersweet. But mostly sweet.

These are the kinds of people who are our people. We love people like this, because we, too, stop to try and befriend every single animal that we pass next to. And we are so glad that there are more silly people like us out there who are doing that because without them, this kitty probably would have continued wandering around, wondering where its family is.

It's an ameowzing thing that she found herself in such good hands too. After being outside for so long, we could imagine her not being the friendliest to strangers, but she seems happy, and we know she will be even happier with her family.
