Marvel just unveiled Deadpool VR at Summer Game Fest 2025, and it’s coming exclusively to Meta Quest 3 and 3S later this year. Twisted Pixel and Oculus Studios are behind the wheel, promising all the flippy, shooty, slice-and-dicey goodness you’d expect from the Merc with a Mouth. The trailer’s red-band glory is packed with exactly the kind of violence and one-liners Deadpool fans live for - like, seriously, you’ll want to put on your grown-up undies before hitting play.
So what’s the story? Deadpool’s been yanked into Mojoworld, signs a shady contract (classic), and starts hopping across Marvel locales to earn an easy fortune. Expect cameos, weird villains, and more dismemberment than a Tarantino flick. Punch someone while holding a grenade? Absolutely. Chuck your own severed arm at a bad guy? Yuck, but also, yes. Hold someone’s face into a propeller? we've all been there.
Now let’s talk about the elephant in the room: the voice. I’m sorry, but Neil Patrick Harris as Deadpool? Really? I love you, Doogie, but that’s… a choice. He somehow sounds exactly like Ryan Reynolds and nothing like Deadpool at the same time. Why not bring back Nolan North, the man who basically is Deadpool in game form? But hey, if the gameplay sticks the landing, I’ll find it in my heart to forgive. Maybe.
All in all, though? I’ve been waiting for a new Deadpool game since… well, since the last one. Which is actually a really fun game. And if this VR insanity lives up to even half of what they’re promising, I’ll be there on day one - ready to slice, shoot, and snark my way through the Marvel Universe in glorious first-person. Stay tuned - my inner chimichanga-fueled mercenary is already hyped.
