Family Attempts to Pressure Daughter Into Dating Her Brother’s Best Friend, She Refuses to Let Them Affect Her Romantic Decisions and Moves Out

I love my mom, and I take pride in our relationship. She is one of my best friends and I feel like I can talk to her about a lot of things. But if there is one topic that I will never be okay with talking to my mom about, is my dating life. Of course, I would want her to approve the person I date, and to be happy for me, but I would never let her tell me who I should or should not date.

Her brother has a friend who had a major crush on her and tried to make a move a few times. Even though OP is not at all interested, her mom still tries to pressure her into going on a date with that friend and goes to great lengths to try and convince OP to agree, and OP is not okay with that.
