Working K-9s always seems so serious. If you ever have gone to the airport or walked through somewhere like Wall Street in NYC, then you have seen working K-9s. They are always calm, stoic, and attentive to their handlers. However, if you're lucky, you can catch them on break and that's when you get to see them play like a happy lil pup. They love to play tug, they do tricks for treats, and they love a good belly rub. But they are always ready to put their training to use at the drop of a hat. But what happens when they retire? Because dogs get old and have to retire eventually too.
Well, one pup named Rider is having a great time in retirement. His mom shared the POV of his transition from over half a decade of work in the military to being a full-time silly, cozy, loving home dog. His handler, now simply known as his dog dad, had to retire him after he sustained an injury that would never heal enough to put him back in the line of duty. This isn't the family's first retired working dog, they also have a now 14-year-old German shepherd named Rex that they retired some time ago as well. So now, this fur family is bursting with happy pups, both doggo and human. So now with three adopted pups and two retired working dogs, the fur family is having the time of their life. Check out Rider's most wholesome transition from military life to family life below!
