These neighbors are never going to get invited to another potluck ever again.
The debates over potluck etiquette are endless. Is it okay to bring store-bought food? Well, plenty of people do, and store-bought often tastes just as good or better than some cooking. Especially if you're not a chef in your day-to-day life, and you're the type to cook frozen meals all the time, I'd argue it's better to bring a store-bought goodie rather than a tray of burnt brownies.
Another potluck etiquette question that arises is what to do with all the leftover goodies. Usually, this is left up to the host. It seems like a common thing to do is when you're departing at the end of the night, the host will offer to give you some food to take home, and will fill a Tupperware container with whatever you want to snack on. But at a potluck, what happens if you barely participate and then still want to take home some food? What if one person brings a store-bought dish, while another spends hours on their dish?
This person attended a neighborhood potluck, and things got awkward when one guest tried to skip out of the event with a crazy amount of food. You can check it all out below.
