Feeling bored is a natural part of the human experience. As of late, it's getting harder and harder to face true boredom, considering we all have a tiny, handheld dopamine machine in our pocket at all times. Furthermore, now as adults, we have many tasks keeping us busy throughout the day. There are not as many situations in adult life that conjure boredom in the same way as being a child in the summer: all friends on vacation, no cable TV at grandma's house, and 2-hour YouTube deep dives on niche topics were not yet a thing. Even still, while it may look different and not feel as intense, we still experience ennui.
