With how difficult it has become to buy a house these days, you hear a lot about parents who offer to help their kids with the purchase of their first home, in whatever way they can. But never have I ever heard of parents demanding their own kids to pay for the mortgage on their house. If you can't afford a house, then maybe you should reconsider your choices, before turning for your kids with demands for money.
The parents in this Reddit story had the nerve to ask just that out of their kids. With the promise that they would give the house to their son and daughter in their will, the parents asked them both to help pay for their mortgage. The son (OP, original poster), turned to Reddit after his fiancée heard of the request and strongly refused it, claiming that they would be left with nothing if anything went wrong.
