Not every concertgoer buys their tickets in advance… Some people will wait until the very last minute to try and see their favorite artist.
The price of concert tickets has never been higher, with prices regularly soaring into the triple or quadruple digits. Even for the worst seats with partially obstructed views, you can still expect to shell out a ton of money to see your favorite artist.
In recent times, certain musical acts have become so popular that getting tickets to see them means waiting on a digital line all day, and then paying those hundreds of dollars if all goes well. So when people don't have six hours to wait on line, they end up desperate for tickets with no way to get them except via resellers.
Some people are so intent on getting into the show that they'll head to the parking lot of the venue and try to get the resellers to sell them a ticket. Sometimes the artist has literally started the show already, and they'll still get a ticket! No matter what it takes to see their favorite artist, their most dedicated fans will do.
