Cats are fierce creatures. They stand up for themselves when they're in danger, they fight, they'd take on anything and anyone if they feel cornered. But, they need to start building up that ferocity from a young age. It's not easy to get into fights, they can't just go stand up to bears and crocodiles without any form of preparation, and cats know this instinctively. So, without anyone's help, they start looking for opponents.
And when cats are little… their opponents must match their size. Some kittens will battle an evil remote control as one of their first enemies. Other kittens will battle windshield wipers as practice for the real things. Even baby big cats understand the need for preparation, as this jaguar cub who lost a battle against his momma's ear knows. And the kitten in this video certainly understands as well. Just one month old, and this itsy bitsy baby is already picking fights with a very dangerous opponent - a man's ear.
